If you’re a regular reader of the blog you might remember that a couple of weeks ago I posted a feature about engagement sessions (see the full post here). Engagement, or pre-wedding, shoots seem to be incredibly popular in the States, but are starting to appear more often over here in the UK, with many British photographers offering them as part of wedding packages or for a one-off fee.
You’ll see from my last post that I think they’re a fabulous way of celebrating your engagement, and also are a lovely way of starting the ‘story’ of your wedding. I was, therefore, delighted when the super-talented Pippa Mackenzie sent me these beautiful shots of Natalie and James’s engagement session down in Brighton.

I’m sure you’ll agree that these images are quite stunning and that this is what an engagement session is all about – having fun, relaxing, enjoying yourselves and celebrating the love your have for each other. It’s also a great way of getting used to being photographed, which is something that lots of couples are nervous or self-conscious about. I love the way that Pippa has used the surroundings as a backdrop for the shoot, and has also incorporated some ‘day at the seaside’ props, like the tandem and carousel.

Thanks, Pippa, for sharing these beautiful images with us. If you’re currently thinking about whether an e-session is for you, check out this short video of Natalie and James’s shoot – you can see how some of the shots were set up, and also get the views of both the couple and the photographers.
