Also keep in mind that the person who helps you with the planning might not be the person in charge on the day, and it's worth finding this out beforehand as well. Equally, some venues that don't have a co-ordinator may offer you more freedom to style the space as you wish, rather than having to overcome the "well this is how we usually do it" mindset. It just depends on whether you want to take on some additional organisation! I would suggest that this is vital, if a venue doesn't have a dedicated person to do this then look elsewhere.
