I was looking through my design boards last week, and noticed that most of them use palettes of greens, pinks and yellows. So, I decided to balance things up by creating a board using shades of purple and blue.

Be sure to check out our new August design concept. This month we’ve gone for a relaxed and informal picnic theme – let’s just hope the sun shines a little bit more than in July!

We’re taking things nice and leisurely this week after the wedding of the lovely Christine and Luke at the weekend. Christine hired us for a wedding day management service only a week ago, and on Sunday we were at the Royal Chace Hotel in Enfield to make sure everything went smoothly. We’ll have photos and a full report from the day in a couple of weeks, but today I wanted to share our new design concept of grey, pink and purple.
A pink colour scheme is a popular choice for weddings, with pastel shades providing a soft and romantic back-drop. However, many brides feel it will look a bit too ‘fluffy’ for a modern wedding, whilst lots of grooms have a strong aversion to wearing a girly colour! So today we’ve created a modern and stylish pink-themed board that would be perfect for a city wedding and that will avoid those “I’m not wearing pink, it’s a girl’s colour” comments!

I first had the inspiration for this design concept a couple of weeks ago during the heat wave when trying to keep cool with ice lollies and ice cream! It’s a very relaxed board that would be ideal for couples looking for something quirky and informal, and is all about having fun in the sun.

Check out our new July design concept. After the recent heatwave I wanted to create a board that celebrated summer and had a refreshing feel, without the traditional ‘hot’ summer colours like reds, pinks and yellows. Hence a rustic outdoor setting, lots of understated details and a fresh apple green colour scheme.

We’ve had a few bright and colourful boards recently, so I feel it’s time for something more subtle and understated. I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve been land-locked my entire life, but I just love visiting the seaside. I could sit for hours just staring out to sea and listening to the waves lapping against the shore, and I think it’s a beautiful setting for a wedding reception.

This week is Royal Ascot, so with the fabulous fashions and stunning hats that will be on display I felt the need for a super-chic mood board. This concept is all about glamour and sophistication, and has been designed with a modern My Fair Lady theme in mind. The classic black and white colour palette provides natural style and elegance, whilst the blend of contemporary fashion and decor with occasional vintage accessories ensures a modern, yet timeless, look.

Sadly the summer seems to have deserted us here in Essex at the moment, so today I’ve designed a colourful board that hopefully will bring some sunshine to your day. I’m thinking uber-chic city venue with lots of funky decorations, and a photo booth and jukebox entertaining guests throughout the day.

Check out our new June design board, which takes its inspiration from the classic English summer dessert of strawberries and cream. With a strong red colour palette and hot summer dresses, this is a truly stylish, modern and fun-filled wedding!

Hope you had a lovely Bank holiday weekend. Following the recent spell of beautiful warm sunshine, today’s board is about all things English and summery. I see this as being a fairly relaxed affair, with either a country barn or garden marquee setting surrounded by large oak trees and open fields.
