Velvet Weddings launched their online wedding store earlier this year, which is jam-packed with gorgeous decorations and accessories. I recently received their wooden love heart and metal love birds heart, which would be perfect for a rustic or country garden theme wedding…

Mad About…Engagement Sessions

One thing I think all couples should take advantage of is an engagement session with their wedding photographer. Sometimes called pre-wedding shoots or e-sessions, I love the idea of having photographs taken before your wedding to celebrate this special time and the love you have for each other.

Mad About…Photo Accessories

I am loving the creative wedding photography that’s coming out of the States at the moment – just have a nose around any of the American weddings blogs and you’ll see some really original and imaginative shots. I’ve particularly got my eye on the use of photo accessories, which seem to help couples relax and have fun, and provide some great informal shots that really reflect their personalities and wedding style. Check out some of my favourites…

Your wedding shoes are important accessories for your wedding attire, particularly if you are opting for a shorter dress and they will be on show for the whole day. Most brides tend to opt for ivory or white to match their dress, but recently I’ve noticed a trend over in the United States for brightly coloured shoes. Before you gasp in horror at the thought, take a look at some of these photos…

It isn’t always easy to find unusual and personal items for styling a wedding, so I was very happy when I recently discovered Not On The High Street. Founded in 2006, this is an online market place for over 900 creative businesses, stocking thousands of practical and personal items for the home and garden, as well as gift ideas, clothing, jewellery and baby products. Mad About…David Austin Roses

Last Friday I was very excited to receive a beautiful bouquet from David Austin Roses showcasing their bridal rose collection. The roses are unique in that they don’t have a classic petal arrangement, but instead have blowsy layers that look fabulous both in bud and as they open to reveal a rosette silhouette. Not only are they absolutely stunning, but they also have a delicate fragrance that is subtle enough for wedding arrangements without being overpowering.

Mad About…Etsy

I stumbled across Etsy a few months ago and now I’m totally addicted! If you haven’t come across it before, it’s essentially an online outlet for hand-made items, and my are there some talented people out there! It reminds me of an online craft market, and there are all sorts of treasures hidden within its pages. (more…)

Mad About: Chartula Studio

I discovered Chartula a little while ago whilst browsing for new wedding stationery suppliers, and I am absolutely in love with their designs. I’ve never before seen anything like their laser-cut stationery, and their designs are truly exquisite. The creative thought and precise attention to detail that goes into each piece is clear to see, and it’s no wonder that they’ve been chosen by celebrities such as Rod Stewart and Sophie Ellis-Bexter. My favourite piece has to be the “Fairytale” design – it’s just gorgeous!
