Spotlight On…Gemma Sutton

Last week we introduced you to Chanelle of Segerius Bruce Photography, who was the photographer responsible for the fabulous images of our vintage peach shoot that was featured in both You & Your Wedding magazine and on Rock My Wedding.

Today I’m delighted to welcome to the blog the hair and make-up artist from the shoot, Gemma Sutton. Gemma is a super-talented lady who regularly works on fashion and editorial features, as well as transforming brides for their big day – I really do wish she could work her magic on me every morning!

Tell us about you and your company

I have been working as an internationally acclaimed makeup and hair stylist for the past 10 years. My work has enabled me to travel the world and work with a number of well established photographers, models and celebrities. Some previous clients include Vogue, TM Lewin, BBC Holby City, ITV3 Drama “Bodies”, OK Magazine, Louise Redknapp and Edward De Souza.

Spotlight On…Segerius Bruce Photography

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve shown some of the photos from our vintage peach shoot, and today I’d like to introduce the lady behind the lens and the person responsible for such wonderful images, Chanelle from Segerius Bruce Photography.

I’ve known Chanelle for a couple of years now, but it’s only over the last 6 months that we’ve had the opportunity to work together more closely. She did an amazing job on our shoot, so I asked her to stop by the blog and answer a few questions…over to you Chanelle!

Tell us about you and your company

I am Chanelle, part of husband & wife team – Segerius Bruce Photography. We shoot weddings around the UK and have also had the pleasure of being flown abroad for weddings in countries including Bali, Prague, Cyprus, Mauritius and South Africa.

My background is in Graphic Design and High End Retouching for famous fashion photographer, Mario Testino. I have been running Segerius Bruce Photography for three years now and love it!

A Night of Swing at the IndigO2

It’s not been that long since Helen Carter Weddings had only one member of staff, so last week saw the momentous occasion of the company’s first “works outing” to the intimate IndigO2 venue within the O2 complex. Donning our glad rags, we met up to sway along with a very varied audience to the crooning melodies of Frank, Dean and Sammy (Sinatra, Martin and Davis Jr) recreated by the very talented performers from Easy Theatres who recreated the glamorous world of Las Vegas’ Sands Theater on the banks of the slightly less glitzy Thames.

The Original Wedding Tea Towel Company – What’s New

Last week, Sarah outlined how she had used the fabulous Wedding Tea Towels as invitations for her Summer wedding celebration. HCW first spoke to Karen Brown of TOWTT in December 2010 (you can read the post here), and now eight months later we chat to Karen again to see what is happening in the world of Wedding Tea Towels and what goodies she may have in store for us in the future.

So Karen, we see a lot more designs on your website now. How did these come about?

From two angles actually. We have launched a beautiful Boutique range with six new towels produced by other designers which has really expanded the choice available. The designs are exclusive to us and have been very popular with brides and grooms.

Spotlight On…The Ebury Collection

I was recently introduced to the luxury online wedding directory, The Ebury Collection. Now I do admit that I’m not normally a big fan of wedding directories – quite often I find them packed with too much information, difficult to navigate and frustrating to use. However, The Ebury Collection is completely different. The unfussy and elegant layout is easy on the eye, and the supplier and venue listing format makes it easy to find exactly what you are looking for.

Spotlight On…Nonsuch Mansion

I recently visited Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey, just 25 minutes from central London, and could not resist sharing it with you. There aren’t many venues that I completely fall in love with, but this is definitely one of them and I can’t wait for the opportunity to plan a wedding here.

Spotlight On…Chocolat a Toi

Wedding favours are something that a lot of couples ask whether they should have or not. I personally think it’s a nice gesture to give your guests a keepsake of the day, but I also know that they can end up being ignored or forgotten about and consequently can feel like a waste of money. This is why I often recommend clients opt for something edible – guests love having something to nibble on after dinner, or they’ll tuck it away to munch on their way home later!

So today I’m delighted to welcome Tola Popoola from Chocolat a Toi. Tola specialises in creating personalised chocolate wedding favours, and is here to share some more information on her services.

Spotlight On…Tim Bowden

From time to time we love to showcase some of our favourite suppliers and venues, and today I’m delighted to share with you the work of talented photographer Tim Bowden. I met Tim recently and was instantly captivated by his creative and unobtrusive style of photography.

By blending into the background and minimising the number of formally posed shots, Tim can capture the magic and emotion of the wedding day as it unfolds. One aspect of Tim’s work that I particularly love is that he avoids using flash, meaning his photographs have a soft, almost painting-like, quality to them:
