• January: Winter Wonderland

2010 has arrived wrapped in a blanket of snow, ice and frost, so this board is based around the raw beauty of the freezing January weather. A pure white colour palette reflects the wintry conditions, whilst a country setting and natural materials provides a warming, rustic atmosphere.

  • December: Seasons Greetings

I love Christmas weddings – there’s just something about the festive season that adds a special touch of sparkle and magic to the celebration. For this design I wanted to use an alternative colour palette to the traditional red and green that’s so popular at this time of year, and have instead used shades of silver and gold, punctuated by accents of eucalyptus and fir green for an elegant, Christmassy feel.

  • November: Winter Glamour

Like many people, I sometimes find November to be a miserable month. The vibrant colours of autumn have disappeared, the days are short and the weather is cold and wet. You may be thinking this isn’t the best time for a wedding, but by embracing the dark evenings and injecting some vibrant wintry colours I’ve created a design this month that’s chic, warm and glamorous.

  • October: Falling Leaves

Autumn is well and truly upon us, and the trees are starting to give up their foliage in preparation for winter. Whilst I’m always sad to see the end of the summer, I love the rich colours that appear at this time of year, so this month I was inspired to create a board that brings plenty of warmth back to these cooler and damper October days.

  • September: Autumn Harvest

September sees the return of shorter days and chillier mornings, and is a time when we reluctantly bid farewell to the summer for another year. But rather than feeling gloomy about the prospect of winter approaching, this board celebrates the transition from summer to autumn with a warm colour palette and ‘harvest festival’ theme.

  • August: Summer Picnic

Although we haven’t quite had the scorching summer as promised, I still have my hopes pinned on a warm and sunny August. So this month we’ve opted for a relaxed and untraditional wedding design in the form of a summer picnic.

  • July: Apple Green and White

This month’s design concept celebrates the simplistic natural beauty of summer, with a colour palette of refreshing greens and crisp white creating an air of calm and freshness.

  • June: Strawberries and Cream

June signals the start of summer, so what could be more appropriate for this month’s board than a strawberries and cream theme?! With sultry reds, hot pinks and short summer dresses, this board is all about celebrating love in a truly modern style.

  • May: May Day Fete

This month’s board takes its inspiration from the traditional English May Day celebrations. We’ve gone for a garden fête theme, with minimal formality and lots of bright colours and fun activities.

  • April: Easter Sunshine

Spring has well and truly arrived, and with its vibrant yellow and cheery disposition, the humble daffodil is the main inspiration for our April board. With Easter just around the corner, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some quirky egg-related features, with the final result being a design concept that’s bright, cheery and fun – Happy Spring everyone!

  • March: Cherry Blossom Pink

The gentle warmth and delicate beauty of spring make it the perfect season for holding a wedding. Our March design board is inspired by the spectacular explosion of pink and white cherry blossom that signifies the end of winter and brings a welcome return of longer days and warm sunshine.

  • February: Valentine Romance

This month we’re all loved up for Valentine’s Day, so what better time for a super-romantic design concept?! This board is all about love and romance, as reflected by the deep red colour scheme, classic floral blooms, decorative hearts and soft candlelight.

  • The DIY package has been invaluable to us in the preparation of our wedding. In particular, it has helped define our budget and has highlighted areas we want to concentrate on more than others. It’s a fabulous piece of software that I would recommend to any couple starting to plan a wedding. Thanks Helen!
