I’ve just about had enough of the miserable weather lately, and as I’m eagerly looking forward to spring I thought today I’d share this blue and peach board with you. This is actually one of the design concepts that I recently created for a client’s wedding in August, but I think it would work just as well for a March or April wedding.

Just before Christmas I was approached by Elodie, the marketing executive of a new London wedding venue, to assist with an upcoming photo shoot for their wedding brochure and website. 58 Princes Gate is owned and managed by Imperial College London, and is a beautiful Edwardian building that is tucked away in the heart of South Kensington. It already successfully hosts corporate meetings, seminars and private dinners, but this year is looking to open its doors to brides and grooms who are looking for an exclusive and intimate central London venue.

You may remember that just before Christmas I posted a sneak peek of Emily and Tim’s beautiful winter wedding in central London. Well we’ve just received some professional photos from Neil Luxford who covered the day’s events, and I just could not wait any longer to share them with you!

In our weekly Wedding Planner Q&A we look at how to deal with common anxieties, questions and problems that often crop up when you’re planning a wedding. Today I’m offering advice on how to go about choosing your bridesmaids.
I have six close friends that I’ve known since school. They’ve always been there for me and we’ve shared lots of special times together. I would love for them to be my bridesmaids, but I also have two sisters who I want to be involved in the day. I know I can’t have eight bridesmaids, so who should I choose?

I recently visited Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey, just 25 minutes from central London, and could not resist sharing it with you. There aren’t many venues that I completely fall in love with, but this is definitely one of them and I can’t wait for the opportunity to plan a wedding here.

Pastel colours are very popular for spring and summer weddings, but they are often overlooked in winter in favour of more vibrant tones. However, I think these delicate shades are the perfect complement for this time of year, and are an excellent way of injecting warmth into a refreshing white colour scheme. So today I’ve used pastel shades of blue, purple and pink to create an elegant, wintry wedding design.

In our weekly Wedding Planner Q&A we look at how to deal with common anxieties, questions and problems that often crop up when you’re planning a wedding. Today I’ve received a question from a bride who has the dilemma of whether or not to invite both of her divorced parents to her wedding.
I am getting married soon and I am unsure whether to invite my dad to my wedding. My parents are divorced and do not get on at all. I know when I speak to my mum about whether I should invite him or not she will tell me to do what I think is best, but I know deep down she does not want him there.
If I invite him I know my mum will probably end up arguing with me over it nearer the wedding date and accuse me of having no loyalty towards her. I can see that she will probably end up telling me she will not attend if my dad is going to be there. I know it would be wrong of her to put me in this position but this is exactly what I can see happening. I don’t want to upset my mum but I don’t want to exclude my dad from the most important day of my life either. I am not sure what to do for the best.

Our first monthly design board of 2010 is now live and can be seen here. As the entire country seems to have transformed into the North Pole at the moment, I felt it was only fitting to create a rustic, snowy board that embraces the beauty of these wintry conditions.
